NEFFA is looking for a Technician microbiology / Microbiologist

 

Your main focus
NEFFA is looking for a Technician microbiology / Microbiologist, in the field of mycelium to further develop MycoTEX. MycoTEX is custom-made clothes made from compostable mushroom roots. Your main focus will be to work on the material characteristics of mycelium.

Job responsibilities (include but are not limited to)
– Material development (lab research) for textiles based on mycelium growth
– Mycelium cultivation and controlling of mycelium cultivation processes in Petri dish, liquid culture and composite materials
– Develop and execute work plans
– Keep an up-to-date lab journal
– Report progress and adjust work plans accordingly
– Read papers and other information
– Cleaning the lab

Job requirements
– Knowledge of and experience with growing mycelium and/or fungi
– HBO+(degree in Microbiology)
– Work independently
– Pro-active approach
– All-rounder
– Able to handle deadlines, stress-resistant and work overtime when needed
– Crossover thinking, openness to other disciplines
– Clear spoken and written communication in English (Dutch is 2nd)
– Being able to work in Soest, the Netherlands and in possession of a work permit if applicable
